January Idle-Free Sonoma County Challenge

JOIN US IN PLEDGING TO BE IDLE-FREE THIS JANUARY!

This January we challenge you to be Idle-Free with Safe Routes to Schools! That means, turn off your car engine when waiting more than 30-seconds. Due to the holiday break, we will not hold a Walk & Roll to Anywhere event but schools are welcome to have one if they choose.  Instead, we encourage families and school personnel to sign our online “Idle Free Sonoma County Pledge,” and/or for students to complete our Idle Free Sonoma County coloring page. Parents/families, teachers, school staff, and students who sign the pledge or submit a coloring page by Friday, February 4th will be entered into a drawing for one of eight $50.00 gift cards to a local business of the winner’s choice.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IDLE-FREE MONTH:

  • Get educated about the benefits of turning off your engine when waiting more than 30-seconds!
  • Complete our Idle Free Coloring Page (English Spanish) and Submit to Safe Routes to School by Friday, February 3rd.
  • Sign the Idle-Free Bay Sonoma County Pledge (English) or Spanish (one signature per family/household) between January 1st-February 3rd, 2023
  • Pledges may be signed by parents, teachers, and/or school administrators/staff from any K-8 School in Sonoma County.

Signed pledges will be entered into a drawing for one of eight $50.00 gift cards to a local business of choice! Gift cards have been donated by the Sonoma County Spare the Air Resource Team and one of our January Sponsors, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.   Winner will be announced in February, and winners will choose which local business to purchase the $50.00 gift card from.  Questions?
