Frequent Walk/Roll & Pollution Punch Card programs are contests where kids are incentivized to walk or bike to school more frequently, and to keep track of how often they do so. The duration can be anywhere from six days to 8 weeks.
Children are given special card, and each day they walk or roll to or from school or on special designated days, the card is punched by a volunteer or marked by the student. Even students who walk or bike to school on a less frequent basis may participate, as long as they walk or bike on the minimum number of occasions during the course of the contest. Completed cards may be tickets for a raffle, or your program may be modified to offer a different incentive for students to turn in their cards Your program may also be modified to accommodate students who carpool or ride a bus to school.
The Sonoma County Safe Routes to School Program currently offers two different punch card designs. Click on card name(s) below to download and print. Enrolled sites may request a supply of printed cards for a Challenge Month by emailing our Safe Routes to School Team.
